We are one of Australia’s most established and successful breeders. The Alpaca Specialists are committed to breeding elite coloured alpacas that are fine, lustrous with high frequency crimp, and with good solid conformation. We run a mixed coloured herd of approximately 300 huacaya alpacas specialising in black, brown and fawns. The Alpaca Specialists are a must visit for the serious black breeder—our strong genetic background and consistency of quality has placed the Alpaca Specialists stud stock in high demand here and overseas. Our goal has always been to breed solid colour including white. We believe that by investing in top quality genetics we get the best possible result for our herd. We are located approximately 1 hour from Adelaide Airport and 45 minutes from the Tollgate; our farm comprises approximately 130 acres of rich fertile arable land in the Mount Lofty Ranges / Adelaide Hills. Last season we cut 300 rounds (5 x 4) bales of hay off 30 acres giving us more than enough hay to feed our animals. We are currently re-seeding our entire property with a special pasture mix which we had tested at our previous property.
